Integrating Phase with Linear
Sprint Planning That Fits Your Brain
You chose Linear because you ship fast and don't have time for bloated tools. Clean interface, keyboard-driven workflow, opinionated design. Your product work deserves that same precision when it comes to when you tackle it.
The Phase × Linear integration imports your active Linear issues and ranks them against your current cognitive profile. Bug triage, feature specs, code reviews, and strategic roadmap work don't all demand the same type of thinking. Phase knows which type of work matches your brain today, and which will land better later in the sprint.
You already have a fast tool for tracking product work. Phase makes sure you're doing the right work on the right day.
How Phase Works with Linear
Once connected, Phase regularly and securely syncs your active Linear tasks ..
Each task is assessed based on what it asks of your brain. Writing an annual strategy and filing expenses don’t compete for the same mental resources.
Based on where you are in your cycle, Phase knows your cognitive profile for the day, and in the coming weeks.
Each task receives an alignment score based on how well it fits your current and upcoming cognitive strengths. That score helps you see which work fits today, which will feel harder, and which is better saved for a more aligned moment in the month.
Importantly, your tasks remain unchanged in Linear. Phase reads them securely, holds them for your eyes only, and ranks them inside Phase.
With Phase & Linear you can prioritise tasks based on biological alignment alongside other key metrics like priority and due date.
What You Can Do with the Phase + Linear Integration
1. See your Linear tasks through a biological lens
Each task is evaluated against your current strengths across focus, creativity, motivation, communication, reflection, and energy.
Writing a product requirements doc and triaging a bug backlog are both "work," but they draw on completely different cognitive resources. Phase scores each Linear issue against your strengths in focus, creativity, reflection, and more. PRD day and triage day aren't always the same day.
2. Rank by alignment, not just urgency
Phase ranks tasks using multiple inputs including:
• Biological alignment
• Due date
• Priority level
This prevents you from spending your sharpest hours on shallow work, and delays high impact work for when you're more likely to find flow.
3. Plan ahead using your upcoming phases
Phase shows when certain types of work will feel more natural in the coming days. This isn’t just about alignment for today - it’s about planning strategically for the future too. Scroll ahead to see when each task will be most aligned with your strengths.
Sprint planning feels different when you know your highest-focus days fall mid-sprint, not at the start. Phase shows you when deep technical work will feel more natural in the coming days, so you can front-load or back-load your sprint accordingly.
4. Reduce decision fatigue
No more staring at your Linear list wondering where to start. The ranking is done.
Phase lets you know where you are most likely to find success today.

What is Linear?
Linear is a project management tool built for modern product teams. Shaped by the practices of companies like Vercel, Ramp, and OpenAI, it combines issue tracking, sprint planning, and roadmap management in a fast, keyboard-driven interface. Linear is designed for engineering, product, and design teams who want to ship without the overhead of bloated project management platforms.
What is Phase?
Phase is a biology‑based productivity system.
We translate biological rhythms, including the menstrual cycle, into daily cognitive guidance across six areas: energy, focus, motivation, creativity, reflection, and communication.
Instead of planning like a machine, Phase helps you plan like a human.
We organise your tasks and schedule so you can do the right work, at the right time, for you.
FAQs
Does Phase work with Linear cycles and sprints? Phase imports your active Linear issues regardless of which cycle they belong to. You'll see alignment scores for each issue based on your current cognitive profile, which helps you decide which sprint work to tackle on which day.
Can Phase import issues from multiple Linear teams? Phase syncs your assigned Linear issues. If you're assigned across multiple teams, those issues will appear and be scored inside Phase.
Does Phase change issue status or assignments in Linear? No. Phase is read-only. Your Linear workspace stays untouched. Phase reads your issues, scores them by cognitive alignment, and ranks them inside Phase only.
